DEATH OF TEXTING?

We've teamed up with mobile marketing agency Que Pasa to research (online surveys, depth interviews, desk research) changing attitudes to mobile content and on-mobile advertising for The Sun.

We'll have more findings that we'll be able to share in due course but one of the most striking findings to emerge thus far is just how receptive people (and this isn't a particularly young audience we're researching) are to the idea of social media on their mobiles.

Moreover, the percentage who can imagine they'll be using Facebook and the like more on their mobile phones in a year's time demonstrated a sharp rise in numbers. With all the ease of use and crisp functionality that social media brands are increasingly incorporating into their mobile apps, could this mean the end is night for SMS texting? Quite possibly so, this in turn drawing the DNA of handheld devices and your 'conventional' computer ever closer together. Text talk, however, is probably here 2 stay.
