We read a lot at Crowd DNA (oh yeah), and recently we’ve been reading about information visualisation. From classics like Edward Tufte’s Visual And Statistical Thinking to cutting edge sites like www.infosthetics.com, information visualisation is an interesting topic.

It’s hardly Maui, but last week in landlocked Munich, over half a kilometre above sea-level, we saw surfers. They were really good as well. If, like us, you usually associated surfers with the sea, you’ll appreciate why we hung around to watch.

Microblogging platforms are a great way to gather rich, unprompted granular research data online, and loads of them integrate really well with mobile. There are well over 100 platforms available (most of them with very silly names like twoggle, plurk and yonkly), with the grandaddy of them all being Twitter.

Another 2.0 Richard & Judy Book Club moment from Crowd DNA... We're reading Clay Shirky's Here Comes Everybody and are hugely impressed by the tidy thinking and absolute clarity he brings to the kind of topics we find ourselves wrestling with here, namely social technology, how groups organise and share, and what all of this means to brands.

Even if you haven't been near a gaming console since the days of GTAIII/Super Mario Bros/Doom/Gran Turismo (delete as applicable), we've a feeling that LittleBigPlanet is going to get your interest. Finally penciled in for an October release after a long, looooong wait, this is a game which couldn't be more on-trend if it tried.
