Consultant (Crowd Signs, APAC)
Having followed the journeys of Hollywood celebrities and fangirled over the ’00s most iconic pop stars (Britney fan, anyone?) ever since she was a kid, Jakarta-based Caranissa has always wanted to pursue a career that allows her to observe culture. She started out working in a print publication, pretending she could write like a Guardian journalist; then as a senior account executive at Ogilvy. After completing her MA in Cultural And Creative Industries at KCL, where she wrote a dissertation examining female characters on HBO’s Big Little Lies through a post-feminist lens, she stepped into the role of cultural insights analyst in a Jakarta-based consultancy; then joining Crowd DNA, in particular to cultivate her semiotics skillset. These days, she manages to stay away from Instagram (over one year and counting) by baking cupcakes, dancing Broadway jazz, journaling and practicing gratefulness.
