Cultural insights and innovation specialists Crowd DNA are recruiting for a director to head up a newly formed trends and content wing. This is a key role in an exciting agency - tailor-made for a commercially focused, creatively minded individual who's looking for a unique challenge and to adopt a start up mentality...

The role entails managing a team of four (and growing!) trends and content specialists, plus outside suppliers/freelancers; leading live projects, ensuring best practice across the team, playing an active role in business development; working alongside Crowd DNA’s managing director and business and strategy director on developing the trends and content offer; also collaborating with Crowd DNA’s other senior directors on planning company-wide strategy

Areas of focus for the trends and content team, and thus for the director to provide a lead on, are as follows –

Trends work – pinpointing relevant trends for clients and demonstrating their strategic relevance; with workshops and presentations as core deliverables but also a focus on disrupting industry norms, and devising new ways to monetise trends work

Cross team services – enhancing the work of our insight & innovation wing, through creating high quality project outputs and integrating trends into their work

Content creation – producing multi-form content (digital, print. film, events etc) to amplify our clients’ understanding of audiences and trends, empowering them to socialise the work across their businesses

Self funded initiatives – creating trends and content assets to promote Crowd DNA

New ventures/joint ventures – exploring and developing new opportunities, such as syndicated, subscription and sponsorship models, partnerships/JVs and other ways to create and disseminate trends and content in the B2B space

Who are you? As this role is very much at the intersection of different skillsets, we will keep an open mind on this one, but it’s likely you currently work somewhere in the content creation, editorial or trends fields. You will probably have some line management experience and a track record of contributing to business development. Even if you haven’t got hands-on with insight or innovation methods, we anticipate you will have a working knowledge of these areas and, of course, an enthusiasm to learn more. Most importantly, you are the type of person who’s not afraid to be starting with a near blank sheet of paper; someone with a tangible appetite for growing things, for enduring the occasional knocks that are sure to come with such a challenge, and the type of agile thinking and adaptability that’s bound to be needed.
