Alexis is based in Santa Monica, California, and spent her undergraduate years studying sociology in Maine, Scotland, and South Korea. Her academic interests are history, the philosophy of technology, media theories and the internet, and speculative fiction. She wrote her senior thesis on how social media platforms in the United States offer different affordance to users and how this impacts community building online. She has also reported on militia extremist groups as an investigative researcher, and worked as a trend forecaster at WGSN, thinking about the future of A.I., Gen Z, and all things digital culture. Alexis enjoys hiking in the mountains at sunset, short walks on the beach, watching Broad City for the billionth time, and listening to hyperpop music.
